Who is the Freddie Tour in Montreux for and why should I take part in this guided tour?

This interactive and convivial guided city tour concept is suitable for all types of public. 

Whether you are an unconditional fan of Freddie Mercury or the band Queen, a music or history lover, a tourist passing through Montreux or even a local resident, this guided city tour is made for you!

The Freddie Tour invites you to discover the many iconic places linked to Freddie Mercury and Queen while sharing the secrets that surround them.

Through fascinating anecdotes and stories, exclusive archive pictures, but also thanks to the many testimonies of Peter Freestone, his personal assistant for more than 10 years, we invite you, for the time of a city tour, to immerse yourself into the years when Freddie Mercury came to find "peace of mind in Montreux".

An original way to discover the rich musical past and the strong attachment that Freddie Mercury, the leader of the band Queen, had with the city of Montreux.

What should I take with me on the day of the guided city tour?

Your confirmation code as well as the name and surname of the person who made the booking.

In order to take advantage of the guided city tour in the best conditions, we invite you to come with only what is strictly necessary. No personal object, whatever it is, will be kept during the visit by Freddie Tours or its guide.

Participants are requested to adapt their clothing to the weather conditions on the day of their visit. In case of rain, participants are required to wear suitable clothing (umbrella and/or rain jacket).

We also strongly advise participants to bring a bottle of water to hydrate themselves during the guided city tour.

Is a visit to the "Queen - The Studio Experience" part of the programme?

A visit to the "Queen - The Studio Experience" museum inside Montreux Casino is not included in the program of the Freddie Tour for several reasons:

  • Admission to the "Queen - The Studio Experience" museum is free of charge, so anyone can discover or rediscover this museum at any time and at their own pace.
  • The "Queen - The Studio Experience" museum is very well documented and full of information that is accessible to all. Despite the importance of this place, a guided tour inside did not seem indispensable during the Freddie Tour.
  • We have chosen to offer a different content for the Freddie Tour in order to bring something original to the visitor.

However, your guide is available during the tour to answer any questions that participants may have about the "Queen - The Studio Experience" museum.

Is there anything important to know about the Freddie Tour?

  • Participants are kindly requested to arrive at the meeting point no later than 15 minutes before the indicated time of the beginning of the guided city tour.
  • During the guided city tour, participants are allowed to make amateur films or photographs. It is however strictly forbidden to take pictures, film or record the content of the audio guides.
  • Any reproduction, representation or distribution, in its entirety or in part, of the content of the guided tours, of any of their elements (texts, photos, anecdotes, places visited, etc.) for commercial or promotional purposes, on a website or blog is strictly forbidden.
  • The duration of the guided city tour is only given as an indication. It will depend on the walking rhythm of the group as well as on the questions and interactions of the participants with the guide during the excursion.

Can children participate?

Yes, children are welcome and can participate in the Freddie Tour.

However they must be able to keep up with the pace of the group as well as understand the information given by the guide and the audioguide.

Is there a special rate for children, students, the elderly or wheelchair users?

We offer a single rate for all participants.

However, babies in strollers and small children are accepted free of charge as long as they do not disrupt the walking rhythm of the guided city tour.

Young children who take part in the tour free of charge do not receive an audioguide, they must also be accompanied by an adult.

I would like to organise a guided tour with a group, for a corporate event or a special occasion

Freddie Tour will be pleased to organise a private or a tailor-made tour for you on the desired date.

Is the Freddie Tour suitable for people in a wheelchair?

The itinerary takes place on the public domain. It is generally adapted and accessible to wheelchairs.

However, the itinerary of the Freddie Tour (Extended) includes a stairs to be crossed, which requires a small detour for wheelchair users.

Please contact us so that Freddie Tours can provide you with full details.

I would like to book the Freddie Tour, but I am reluctant with online payments.

We use a third party payment processor (Stripe, the world leader in online payments on internet and used by renowned companies such as Google, or Amazon). Stripe is responsible for processing all credit card payments (Visa, Mastercard and American Express).

Your credit card information are not transmitted or stored on our website at any time. Your online payment is therefore 100% secure.

Payment by bank transfer (IBAN) is also possible. Once the booking form has been validated, you will receive our bank details by email. Your reservation will be confirmed only when your payment has been received by Freddie Tours.

If neither of these two methods of payment suits you, please contact us.

I have made a booking but I have not received a confirmation email.

The email has probably gone through your SPAM mailbox, please check. If it is not there, please check that the amount of your reservation has been charged to your credit card. If this is the case, you can contact us giving us the details of your booking.

Our confirmation email containing the booking code is your proof of purchase. It will give you access to the Freddie Tour on the date chosen at the time of your booking. We do not send a paper entry ticket.

I have made a booking but would like to change the date of the tour

Contact us immediately. We will do our best to satisfy your request as long as there are places available for the new date. 

As stated in our General Terms and Conditions of Sale we cannot cancel your reservation.
