Freddie Tours - Montreux
Follow in the footsteps of Freddie Mercury in Montreux!
This city, located in an idyllic setting between lake and mountains, is intimately linked to Freddie Mercury and Queen. Did you know, for example, that they recorded no less than 7 albums ? The artwork of "Made in Heaven" shows a view of the lake and the mountains opposite Montreux, a place where Freddie Mercury spent many happy moments of inspiration and relaxation. Queen was also the owner for 14 years of the famous Mountain Studios located within the walls of the Montreux Casino.
In 1996, five years after his death, a bronze statue was unveiled on the lakeshore. Having become a real place of pilgrimage for all his fans, the statue of Freddie Mercury is now an essential figure in the city of Montreux.
